Today is the first day of Autumn here in Australia. I’ve just learned that not all countries believe the beginning of the season starts at the beginning of the first month of that season… That explains why the American and European blogs I’ve been reading are talking about Spring like it’s still a little way away…
It’s been raining here for what feels like weeks. On and off it has been weeks. But it’s been steadily raining for the past few days. I feel like I’m the only one not complaining about the rain, I love it. It’s been a bit chilly, a bit grey, perfect weather for homebodies like me to stay inside in comfy clothes keeping cozy and dry. Sad but true! Although I do love getting outdoors with gumboots and an umbrella, especially with a certain little boy who LOVES jumping in puddles. Now there’s a plan for tomorrow…!
I’m not the only one around here that’s been getting in the mood for Autumn. There’s been a lot of baking around here lately – and not by me! You see, my husband has discovered a love of baking bread. And I’m not complaining one bit!
I had to quickly grab this loaf in order to take a photo before it disappeared. I was going for a dark, moody, Autumn feel… Chalkboard backgrounds are not very original right now I know, but I do love how it looks, I don’t expect it’s the last time you’ll see one here!
Do you like Autumn?
