After growing up in the Nation’s Capital, I spent my twenties travelling, living in Japan and then Brisbane.  When it was time to settle down, my husband and I moved back down south and now we call the small NSW town of Yass home (40 minutes out of Canberra).  Here we live with our three boys in an old home we’re slowly making our own - loving the community, friendships and slower pace of life that small town living has to offer.

After working in Marketing and Graphic Design for almost ten years, I followed the call of my creative heart and leapt into the world of professional Photography.  I opened Dando Photography in 2011 and since then I have dabbled across many areas of photography.

I now focus on weddings and all things commercial - the two areas I love the most.  With weddings, I aim to tell the real story in the most beautiful way I can.  In my commercial work, I have a particular passion for working with small businesses, small batch and handmade production, as well as local and sustainable growers, producers, and makers working across a number of fields.

A compulsive maker of things myself, outside of my work I am always creating something.  From cooking, sewing, knitting, painting, gardening and DIY – if it means I’m creating, then I’m happy (especially when I get to use power tools!).

Being able to make a living from something that brings me so much joy is something I’ll never take for granted.

Fun Facts:

-  In 2014 I was awarded ACT Professional Photographer of the Year by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.  It was the first (and only) year I've entered that competition, and to be awarded the state's highest award that year was a humbling experience.

I was hired to take a series of photographs of prominent Canberra cafes for inclusion in the book "Coffee Encounters", published by Smudge Publishing in 2013.

Clients include:

Ginger Catering at the National Arboretum, Handmade Canberra, Yass Valley Tourism, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), ACT Government (Public Housing Renewal Taskforce), Oh Mabel, Clementine Restaurant, A Baker, Jasper and Myrtle, Chase Building Group, Chamberlains Law Firm, The Local Larder, Six 8 Coffee, Bulum Group, Willow and Charlie, Bow & Arrow, Creator’s Nest, GC Building, Gotha Construction, Wins Creek Meadery, La Torta, Kusina, Lindsay and Edmunds Chocolates, My Sweet Alice
